Overview of Suguru Goto's works
Penrose Stairs(ペンローズの階段)
Penrose Stairs is an audio-visual piece that utilizes multiple lasers, images, and music to create a unique experience. Lasers are strategically positioned at the front, back, left, and right of the venue, forming a spatial sculpture and architecture. The interplay between lasers, images, and music results in dynamic interactions and reactions. Intangible objects emerge in the space, evolving over time in tandem with the music. The spatial environment transforms in sync with the musical composition.
This artwork represents a novel form of media art and serves as a pioneering medium of expression. Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in an unprecedented sensory experience, encountering new perceptions and sensations. By standing within the laser-created spatial expressions, viewers are enveloped by ethereal objects that elude physical touch. The soundscapes produced within this environment evoke a sensation akin to painting space with sound.
Caution: Penrose Stairs involves intense visual and auditory stimulation. Individuals with heart conditions or hypersensitivity are advised to refrain from participating.
